Was There Anything I DIDN’T like about Niche Marketing on Crack?
Well, of course I didn’t like the name…Niche Marketing on Crack.
The other thing that slowed me down a little bit was due to my TOTAL inexperience. In MOST cases, Andrew did an excellent job of baby-stepping me through Niche Marketing on Crack. However, I didn’t like his selection to host his sites. I spent a great deal of time trying to figure out and set up my website using his suggested host.
Then I found Bluhost.com . They were less expensive and VERY user friendly for a rookie like me. They had auto installs with Fastastico that I was easily able to follow and install my blog, add email accounts and even create subdomains. I had spent days trying to figure all of those things out on the host he recommended. (I don’t think he expected his readers to be quite as naive as me, but I am glad I found Bluhost. Otherwise, I think I would have hit a major roadblock.)
The second thing I found (thanks to a geeky computer friend) was “Ipswitch WS_FTP Home.” This helps me transfer theme editors and plugins to my FTP client (again–this lost me!) as if I was using Windows Explorer. My friend found a free trial version online. This also saves me a ton of headaches. Â
The third and only other thing I wish he would have addressed more was “coding.” Even though, the blog does a lot of the html for you…I have spent a lot of trial-and-error learning to make my sites the way that I wanted them.
Overall, though, all of the materials in the book were excellent and not overwhelming. I would highly recommend it to anyone.
